Wakefield Community Swimming Pools are open from November to March. When these months approach, the exact dates of the opening and closure of our swim seasons, will be communicated via our website, email newsletter and social media pages.

The temperatures of our outdoor pools are uncontrolled and will fluctuate due to weather.

Yes, you are welcome to bring your own food and drink and enjoy these items on our grassed area. Food and drinks other than water are not permitted beside the pool.

You can also find a range of food and drinks for purchase at our kiosks.

Depending on the season pass you purchased, you can gain access to all Wakefield Community Swimming Pools.

Season passes purchased for Balaklava Swimming Pool will access all three Wakefield Community Swimming Pools while season passes purchased at Hamley Bridge and Owen will only access Balaklava Swimming Pool when this add-on is purchased by speaking with a team member on-site.

Pass holders at Hamley Bridge and Owen Swimming Pools will be welcome to add-on access to Balaklava Swimming Pool at a fee, by speaking to a member of the team in-venue.

We accept the following concession cards on the criteria that they have a valid expiry date and that the card is shown upon your first visit for new concession memberships or each casual visit to the centre:

  • Health Care card
  • Pensioner & Senior card
  • Student card
